Privacy Policy

Hello Order ("Hello Order", "we", "us") is a Shopify app that helps merchants build and send orders on behalf of customers who call or email in. This policy explains what information the app touches, how it's used, and who it's shared with.
Who this applies to
This policy covers the Shopify merchants who install Hello Order, the staff they authorize to use it, and the merchant's own customers whose information the app displays while an order is being built.
What information Hello Order touches
Customer information, via Shopify. When staff search for or select a customer, Hello Order reads that customer's name, phone number, email, and saved addresses directly from your store's Shopify data. When an order is created, Hello Order writes the order, including any gift message, PO number, or order note, back to Shopify the same way. We do not keep our own copy of this — each request reads from or writes to Shopify directly, and no customer name, contact information, address, or order record is stored in our own database.
Store account information. We keep a record for your store, including your shop domain, your current plan, when the app was installed (and uninstalled, if applicable), and the store's contact email from Shopify. This is used to authenticate the app, determine billing, and provide support.
App settings. Preferences like default fulfillment type or which optional fields are turned on are saved in your staff's own browser, not on our servers. Settings configured on one computer won't appear on another until they're set up there too.
Support requests. If you use the in-app bug report form, we receive whatever you include — typically your store's email, a description of the issue, and anything else you choose to add (like a screen recording link).
How we use information
To operate the app's core function — letting staff build and send an order using your store's own Shopify data — to run internal reporting on app usage and billing, and to provide support when you contact us. We don't use customer or order data for advertising, and we don't sell it.
Who we share information with
Shopify, as the platform the app runs on and the source of every customer and order record Hello Order displays. We don't share customer, order, or store data with any other third party.
Data retention and removal
Store account records are kept for as long as the app is installed. As required for every Shopify app, Hello Order responds to Shopify's mandatory compliance webhooks: when a store uninstalls the app, we delete that store's account record from our database. Because we don't store a customer's name, contact information, or address ourselves, a customer-specific data or deletion request generally has nothing to locate in our systems beyond what Shopify itself already holds.
Security
Hello Order authenticates every request through Shopify's standard app authentication, and all traffic between the app, your browser, and Shopify is encrypted in transit.
Children's privacy
Hello Order is a business tool for Shopify merchants and isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially, we'll update the effective date above and, where appropriate, let installed merchants know.
